Airplane Losses

Co-mingled among dozens of shipwrecks are the remains of a handful of airplanes that have gone missing in the southeastern quarter of Lake Michigan. Northwest Flight 2501 has been the object of a decade-long hunt for its remains by NUMA and MSRA. To date, only one airplane has been discovered, and that by a commercial salvor. More may eventually be found in the course of looking for area shipwrecks. See the list of missing aircraft below .
